Poetic Inspiration

Poets have written since earliest times of heavenly beauty in women’s bright smiles – they have told how the charm of such beauty beguiles the heart of every beholder. But I paid no heed to such blandishments dear: indeed I have often thought poets a bit queer - they go overboard for a smile or a tear – and with every stanza grow bolder. I little knew then the warmth of your love, the glow in your eyes as from heaven above; but now all is changed and the laureates crown may be mine before I’m much older.
